Ski / Recreation Facility Design

International Alpine Design (IAD) is a resort planning and design group, headed by Mike Larson and based in Vail, Colorado. IAD are specialists in Alpine resort planning and are primarily engaged in the site review and concept planning. They are involved in the design and preparation of a comprehensive master development plan. They have an impressive global client list, which stretches from Australia to the US and includes the following major ski resorts: Vail, Breckenridge, Northstar, Beaver Creek, Telluride, and Heavenly in the US.

Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) is an international engineering consulting firm with offices in Asia, Australia, Europe, South America and the Middle East. SKM is providing civil, structural, mechanical and environmental services to the project. SKM have consulted on a number of high-profile and award winning projects, including engineering the roof structures for the main Olympic stadiums at Athens and Sydney, as well as the new Wimbledon Stadium, the Malaysian Formula 1 circuit and the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. Architects

Zehren & Associates Inc. is led by Jack Zehren and is headquartered in Vail, Colorado. They are involved in designing the master plan and architectural codes for the Himalayan Ski Village, as well as some of the key structures. This firm has special expertise in the planning and architectural design of buildings within mountain communities, recognizing the range of operational and community priorities, which affect design solution. Over the past 24 years, it has provided overall resort master planning for Beaver Creek, Colorado, and designed community buildings within the Colorado Mountains at Vail, Avon, Winter Park and Keystone. They have on going long-term planning and design services at Telluride, Colorado; Mammoth, California; Solitude, Utah, and Mt Hood Meadows, Oregon. Their current projects include Stove, Vermont; Heavenly Lake, Tahoe; and Island Lake, British Columbia.

Romi Khosla Design Services is headed by Romi Khosla, who studied economics at Cambridge and architecture at AA, London. Romi was a UN consultant in planning and tourism for many years and wrote the third world development policy for the British Government's Department for International Development (DFID). Born in Himachal Pradesh, he participated in a number of important tourism projects and wrote the original tourism plan for the state. Romi also participated in the reconstruction design of Kosovo and Kabul for the UN after the wars.

SM Bagley & Associates, New Delhi, is the coordinating architect and planner, and has extensive experience in urban planning and resort design in India and the US, where he has previously worked with Sasaki Associates, Moshe Safdie & Arrow Street Associates. He has a Masters in architectural science from MIT, USA.

Landscape Architects

Akash and Sujata Hingorani, New Delhi, specialize in landscape architecture design and have extensive on major projects throughout India, including Mayapur Temple Town, South Delhi Greenway, Eco-Tourism resort and Sahara Tourism Circuit at Sunderbans West Bengal.

Environmental Studies

The Environmental Impact Assessment will be prepared jointly by the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM) and The Energy & Resources Institute (TERI).

Indian Institute of Forest Management is based in Bhopal and is one of India's premier management and research institutes. IIFM is an independent statutory organisation under the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MoEF), Government of India, and its governing board is chaired by the Secretary, Environment and Forests, Government of India. IIFM has been entrusted with the task of conducting the Ecological Impact Assessment under the Environment Impact Assessment for HSV project to assist HSV in adopting the best environmental practices.
